We are genuinely saddened by the loss of a precious and passionate scholar Prof. Dr Fuat Sezgin, who has passed away on the 30th of July 2018.
With his work Professor Sezgin has had a significant influence on the field of Islamic history. With his work he has made major contributions to academia and the mutual understanding of cultures. Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin relentlessly dedicated his life to science and has been a pioneer in the development of academic culture in Islamic science in the Arabian language in Germany.
